Months ago a friend had us ladies all over to her house for a "stitch and bitch".  Though there was not a lot of stitching or bitching, there was Cherry Moonshine.  This was the very first time that I had store bought moonshine and it was simply delish.  We had it straight up as a sippin' drink.  Needless to say 1 oz for most of us was quite enough.  Since then I have been making different drinks with my Cherry MoonShine and this is one of my favorites.  Yes, I know it is not really a "margarita" if it doesn't have Tequila in it but being that today is National Margarita day and I didn't have a name for this drink, Cherry Moonshine Margarita it is. It's my drink, I can call it want I want.  Delish is the other name though.  Here is the thing with moonshine, the alcoholic content is way up as this is 100 proof which means 50% alcohol.  Some Moonshines are even more.  To give you a comparison, Beer is usually normally 4-6% while Tequila (depending on the quality) is usually 40%.  In other words, don't drink and drive.  Better yet, wait till you get home, make this up.  Sit on the front porch and ignore the kids and enjoy.

Now is it gluten free?  The bottle that I use is not certified gluten free but is made with corn (as historically moonshine is made from corn).  Does that make it gluten free? Yes it can IF the factory is a gluten free factory and the corn is grown where other gluten products are not grown.  What I can tell you is that the one that I used, by MidNight Moon, they tweeted out that there's was Non GMO and Gluten Free.  I have not had a reaction to the one that I am drinking but I am not celiac just intolerant. You might be able to find one that is certified as I have not done any research.
